Well, 2 1/2 months later I am posting Gabriel's "Two" entry...partially because his 2-yr check up was not until the beginning of July, but also we have had a busy summer thus far. So, what's going on with Gabriel at two? The more appropriate question may be what is not going on with Gabriel. He is into sports (namely soccer and swimming, although he also loves watching runners and cyclist in the park), his scooter, cars and trucks (LOTS of cars and trucks), playing in the dirt every chance he gets, and is totally into his role as Big Brother (he gives my belly hugs and kisses on a daily basis).
He did great at the doctor, she was quite impressed with his use of vocabulary and ability to communicate so well, and also noted his recall of numbers, colors, and the alphabet were advanced. Apparently he is "literally one of the best behaved two-year olds I have ever seen" she confessed after spending a good 45 minutes with him. She reassured us that we are handling his "terrible two" (if you can call them that) issues just as we should be, as evidenced by his behavior and communication. Chalk one up for good parenting by Andy and Ashley :).
His Stats:
Weight: 30 lbs (67%)
Height: 36 inches (70%)
Head Cir: 54 cm (97%)
The biggest news as of late is that Gabriel, at 26 months old, is completely potty trained! We are thrilled with his progress and surprised at how "easy" it was. He has continued to be a champ at day and night peeing and pooping in the potty.
Gabriel has really turned into a little boy...I mean he hasn't been a baby for some time now, but lately his character and personality are shining through in his everyday interactions. It is such a joy for Andy and me to see him grow and develop, not only to see the new things he learns but to see how he figures things out, how he is independent and creative, how he really is his own little person.
We are really excited to see him as a big brother soon, he is already setting toys aside for baby brother, talking about how they will play together and how he will be sweet to him. Precious.
Now, for his two-year shots....a BIG thank you to my dear friend Anna (Anna Bandy Photography) for taking these great pictures of Gabriel!
