We have decided to embark on potty training Gabriel, partly because we have noticed signs of readiness, but also because the pediatrician affirmed the decision last week at Gabriel's 2 year well appointment. Most everyone I've spoken to has backed the "boot camp" method, and after doing research of our own we feel this is a credible method...3 days straight, no leaving the house, throw ALL diapers and "crutches" out, lots of praise and rewards as ownership of the process is taken by Gabriel...we start tomorrow first thing in the am.
Today we took a special trip out with Gabriel to purchase big boy underwear, treats, toys, etc. all to play up the idea of being a big boy and being potty trained. A primer, if you will. He seems excited to wear big boy underwear "like daddy". Cross your fingers! We'll update on the progress...with hopefully good news of success :)
