Little Monster

We kind of celebrated Halloween all week this year. It all started last Sunday because we took Gabriel to a (costume) birthday party in the park. We actually bought Gabriel's costume last Christmas when we found out he was a boy and Carter's had their '08 costumes on clearance...we chose a little monster costume (or perhaps it is a dinosaur?). Gabriel was very ferocious in his costume, of course. At the birthday party, a few kids were calling him a dragon. Too cute.

We continued our celebration with another Fall photo shoot out on the Great Lawn in Central Park with Gabriel sporting his "Happy Halloween" gear from Aunt Steph. The grass is still vibrant, but now the leaves are showing off...and we thought the backdrop of the City was particularly nice.

We also baked some delicious Halloween treats (witch fingers and ghoulish cupcakes)...

... carved Gabriel's baby pumpkin from the apple picking outing...

... and of course took Gabriel out trick or treating. Wait, I know what you're thinking. Gabriel is too young to trick or treat and Andy and Ashley just want candy :) (actually if you know us well you know we don't really eat candy, but that is beside the point!). Here in the City, trick or treating is a bit different from neighborhoods - everyone sits out on the stoop of their building (which is often decorated) and hands out candy and makes a fuss over all the trick or treaters. So, we paraded Gabriel around the streets near us to see the decorations and show off his little monster costume.

Happy Halloween!

Hey guys! I was thinking about ya'll the other day and wondered how things were going, so decided to hop on your blog. Gabriel is getting to be such a big boy! And SUPER cute!!

Elliot was a dinosaur for Halloween too! Were do you guys find the time to do all this stuff- apple picking, carving pumpkins, baking... we thought we were doing well just to make it out to the church harvest party :)

Anyway, great to catch up with you. Continue to enjoy that precious little one!
