As many of you know, Andy and I are seriously pursuing an move to Denver, CO in the next year or so. We love NYC, but it's increasingly difficult for this growing family. We have lived in New York for five years now (hard to believe) but are poised to make the transition to a place that we feel is perfectly aligned with our interests and plans/dreams for our family. With limitless outdoor and running opportunities, what could be more fitting for these invariable adventure seekers?!
So. We scheduled an impromptu scouting trip last week out to Denver (sans Gabriel, thanks mom) just before it became too late for me to fly (ssshhh, didn't tell my doctor). It was a crazy whirlwind of a trip where we flew out Wednesday night, drove over 400 miles in a rental car for two full days covering every square inch of Denver, then took the red eye home Friday night ... just in time for me to line up for my eighth race Saturday morning (gasp! more on that later).
Denver was amazing, it was everything we thought it would be. We wanted to make sure we didn't have any preconceived notions about moving out there before hauling our family across the country, and happily I can report that we remain excited and serious about the move. The scenery is amazing, the people friendly, the pace a bit slower, the city progressive, the culture "green", and the job opportunities promising.
Stay tuned for updates on the next big thing for the Goodwins (well as I typed that I realized the birth of our second child will be the next big thing for the Goodwins, so the next big thing after THAT for the Goodwins!).
