Well, we’re finally all settled in to our new place (save some boxes piled up in the baby’s room, but he/she is not using it right now anyway, so I have some time to finish unpacking there…). We went to the corner of Columbus Avenue and West 90th street last night to buy our Christmas tree from the friendly Canadians who have a Christmas tree stand set up. True, this is not the bucolic Christmas setting Andy or grew up with where you go cut your own Christmas tree and drink hot chocolate, but it’s Christmas in the City for us. Here is a pic of our apartment decorated for the season:
Laney is particularly fond of the Christmas tree skirt, so we’ve already had to shoo her off of it several times. Maybe Santa will leave so many gifts there won’t be any room for her little heiny to sit on it! We’ll be traveling to Pittsburgh to spend Christmas with my family at Laurel and Jim’s house, so we are really looking forward to that. Between now and then, we’ll be enjoying the Christmas season… speaking of, we took a break from the unpacking and organizing to meet my Uncle Sonny and Aunt Kathy for brunch Sunday morning. They had been visiting the City for a few days to see New York at Christmastime, so we were really glad to be able to meet up with them while they were in town. We took them to one of our favorite brunch places, Landmarc. Thank you for the fellowship, food, and really cute baby gift to boot!
