I took Gabriel to his 5-yr well check this morning. Since we moved back to the City, it was nice to see our old pediatrician again! Well, Gabriel was not excited to see her for obvious reasons, but I was glad to be in a familiar doctor's office with a pediatrician that I trust implicitly.
Gabriel has always been opposed to visiting the doctor, but he did a little bit better this year than the last few years. He stood on the scale to be measured for height and weight, although it did require some cajoling. He reluctantly read the eye chart, and seriously opposed the blood pressure cuff. The visit and exam with the doctor did not really go very well either, but the good thing is that he is very healthy and right on target for his age in terms of skills (gross and fine motor, etc). The pediatrician commented on how strong Gabriel is, which is not surprising considering how much energy he expends running around everywhere all the time!

Another good thing, no shots this visit! Gabriel is deathly scared of shots, so he was relieved when Dr. Berwald reassured him that he didn't need anymore until he is 11!
