Gabriel is FIVE!!

We had quite the birthday weekend celebrating our new five-year old! We celebrated by taking Gabriel to Legoland, accompanied by Mimi, Aunt Steph and Aunt Laurel. We reserved tickets for 10am, the first time slot, and planned to stay until the boys tired of it. We anticipated they would make it to about 2pm, at which time we would head out for a late lunch and get them home. Boy, were we wrong!

The boys (and by boys I mean Andy too!) LOVED this place. And I did too, for about the first four hours. They had a ride, jungle gym, 4D movie, build your own race car and ramp section, tot lego area, and an earthquake simulator area where you can build a lego tower and see how well it performs. We probably spent the first 2 hours in the car racing area, digging though hundreds, or maybe thousands, of lego pieces to build a race car, then race it down the ramps. Each of the other areas received pretty equal attention from the boys. Around 2pm, the girls headed out for some real food, because cafe food at legoland is really gross, and the boys stayed to keep playing. Four hours later, the boys were still going strong! Andy had to convince them to leave just after 6pm in order to go get some dinner. I think they would have stayed until it closed at 7pm if we had let them. All in all, EIGHT hours at Legoland. Gabriel had a blast and that is what matters!

Other birthday weekend festivities included dinner at a restaurant of his choice, which was Dinosaur BBQ, a Toy Story themed birthday cake, and of course presents. What a great weekend celebrating our bright, joyful, spirited boy! Happy Birthday Gabriel!
