We don't have any official stats for Gabriel's 15th month milestone (we go tot he doc Friday) but he is growing and changing every day. He is learning and able to repeat back words at a rate of about one per day...to us the words he chooses to verbalize seem random (eggs, down, please, whoa, dog, know (holding his hands out and saying 'know' for I don't know), baby, toast ...you get the picture) but I'm sure they make sense in his embryonic mind :).
He is getting really good at identifying animals and knowing their sounds. He can identify more by picture or real life than he knows the sounds for but he's getting there. Some of his favorite sounds to make are a sea lion, tiger/lion, dog, sheep, elephant, horse and whale. For animals that don't really make a sound, we've taught him hand motions, so he thinks the turtle, crab, alligator and shark are hilarious (snap, pinch, chomp, and hands over your head in a triangle, respectively).
He has 2 molars and and eye tooth coming in, poor boy, so he hasn't slept well the past week or so. Other than that he is doing great! We are excited to see how much he has grown at his check-up Friday. He knows a handful of colors, has learned to put his finger to his lips to say 'Sssshhh', can walk backwards now, loves to throw and kick any ball, added 'dirty' to his baby signs, and tries to snap (moves his fingers in the motion as in 'when you're happy and you know it snap your fingers', but of course it will probably be years before he can generate a sound too - ha!).
I had to work today, but Andy and G came down to Bryant Park on my lunch break, by way of Times Square and Central Park...so these are going to have to suffice for his 15-month "shots" ...
