We all had a full weekend (spring cleaning and a trip to storage), including two new toy experiences for Gabriel... first up was a first ride in his brand new bike seat that we got him for his birthday...loved it! Unfortunately the park was crazy crowded and a race was being held, so we only spent about 15 minutes out... but he thoroughly enjoyed his front row view of the park at, say, 10 m.p.h., and loved pointing at everything that passed him by. Thanks to our friend Allison for the recommendation, we love it!
Next up, a push toy. This impromptu purchase ended up being a really fun activity for Gabriel. I went over to a friend's apartment Friday for our kids to play together and she had this really cute push toy that Gabriel loved (in fact he was "fighting" her daughter for it). So Andy and I headed to TJ Maxx that evening (where good deals abound in a city that will squeeze you dry!) and we saw this little safari truck outfitted with a handle. Upon further inspection we noticed that it was possibly the most appropriate toy for us. It is completely made of recycled material and has no harsh adhesives or paints, AND it requires no batteries because the lights and sound are generated by the wheels when the toy is pushed! Awesome.
We decided to take it out of the box to see if Gabriel would like it. He immediately grabbed the handle and took off down the aisle with it...he walked it all the way to the cash register where we promptly purchased the best. toy. ever.
