What a difference one month makes. Gabriel made great strides in his mobility from 8 to 9 months. Thankfully he is not walking yet (although he seems to threaten to everyday), but he is quite speedy at scooting all around the apartment and getting into everything...pulling up on everything, emptying drawers and closets, opening and closing doors (of course not with the door knob, don't be silly), and standing up in his high chair (time to use the seat belt!). He is such a character. He also has mastered waving and will wave at anyone and anything, he has six teeth now, he loves, loves loves his Happy Baby puffs (O's we call them), and now greets us in the morning and after each nap standing in his crib grinning.
We went to the doctor for his well visit last Tuesday, on the 9th. He weighs 21 lbs 13 oz (71%), is 29 1/4" (80%) and head circumference is 47.5 cm (95%...yes the child has quite a noggin apparently). His doctor was thrilled with his progress and development, so we were glad to have a very positive check up.
Gabriel has been eating more and more table food. In fact he eats dinner with us now, usually noshing on green beans, carrot chunks or the like; we gave him scrambled eggs and mozzarella cheese chunks the other night. Oh yea and we tried Greek yogurt...no bueno! We plan to introduce wild rice and whole wheat pasta (pureed of course). It's so fun to watch him try new things and become more and more like a little person. It makes me realize just how short the baby phase is...he's on his way to being a toddler already. Soon, I will have to start my sentences with "when Gabriel was a baby" because he won't be a baby any longer - wow that is difficult to wrap my mind around.
We are enjoying Gabriel more and more every day and thanking God for such a happy and healthy child; he is pure joy. In the 9 month pics I've included various shots from his 8 to 9 month progression. Enjoy.
