We have always wanted to take the boys to the Christmas train show at the NY Botanical Gardens, and this year a dear friend gave us tickets to take them. All of the plants and flowers in the greenhouse are completely decked out with trains and tracks and intricate displays. It really is amazing. Crowded, but amazing. The boys loved it. I think they equally loved taking the "big train" (MetroNorth) out of Grand Central Station up to the gardens :) After an afternoon of train watching, we had some lunch and treats at the Gingerbread Cafe, yum! This was a fun, pre-Christmas activity. The pics don't do it justice, it was really hard to get pics because it was so crowded we couldn't back up enough to get the boys and the trains in the pics! Oh well.
Grand Central Station is always a fun place to observe the boys' amazement. This kind of thing is one of the things I love about New York City, to witness them in awe of the many unique and great things in this city.
The "big" train!
All of the displays are crafted and assembled by hand. Truly, pictures don't do it justice.
