With the abundance of snow, we decided to go sledding for Andy's birthday. We also have made the difficult decision, after nine years, to find a new home for Tsali. With a future move to a smaller apartment, and the death of Laney (his sister/companion) we thought he needed a better environment to live. A really nice couple in PA with another dog and a huge backyard fell in love with our Tsali Wally, so we agreed to let them provide a new home. We are happy that he will be loved well and have space to roam, and have a doggy companion, but of course sad that he will no longer be a part of our family. Thankfully, the couple is okay with us coming to visit every now and then! The boys took it pretty well.
We drove up the Hudson Valley just a little ways to a park that overlooks the (frozen!) Hudson River. The snow was so deep, it was taller than both boys in many places. The hills were great for sledding, and the frozen river great for amazement by the boys, who know the flowing river down in the city.
After a birthday cake compliments of Krispy Kreme (I have been swamped with school work and thus have not had the bandwidth to plan for a traditional cake), we headed out for the day. Sledding and donuts, what more could you want?!

Gabriel and I went to KK at 6am ... He only agreed to go with me when I told him we could take a taxi!

We stopped at a tasting room on the way to the park for small bites and a few samples

Tsali in the snow ... although you can't tell from the pics, he really does love the snow, probably because of his thick fur and undercoat!

Yep, that is the frozen Hudson
