Seasonal Happenings

Gabriel is at a really fun age to enjoy Christmas this year. We've been trying to do all of the signature NY activities for Christmas, plus just enjoy Christmas at home. Highlights include the advent calendar (which he LOVES to do after dinner every night; he races over to the chair, climbs up and plucks a verse out of the pouch for that day, too cute!), Christmas baking, Rockefeller Christmas tree and Christmas windows, Winter's Eve festival at Lincoln Center, wrapping gifts (he caught on to the basic order of wrap, tape, tag, bow, then under the tree), and Gabriel turned 19 months.

We also introduced the advent wreath this year, which he is less inclined to be excited about because it's just once a week, BUT something else really cute: last Monday morning after we had done advent readings the previous night, he climbed up to the counter, grabbed Andy's bible and brought it to he sofa to "read". So cute (I won't mention that he also ripped a page out). Similarly, we have been praying before dinner with him for months now, but last week as we sat down, and before Andy could start, he reached his hand out to Andy and said "pray?". A moment I will never forget :)
