I am taking this opportunity to re-cap our Christmas season, as my long semester has caught up with me, I'm not about to tackle a bunch on separate posts! Here we go ...
Our plans to attend Winter's Eve at Lincoln Center were thwarted by rain, but we did glimpse some Christmas magic at the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle:
We drove up to a Christmas tree farm in CT (on a cold and rainy day!):
Mimi took the boys to SantaLand on the top floor of Macys (brave!). Then, we toured the Christmas windows from Macy's on 34th st, through Bryant Park, and up 5th Ave all the way to Central Park South! The crowds were bad (probably the worst I'd seen in 7 Christmas seasons here) and the weather pretty cold, Judah did not enjoy the light and music show at Saks, but Gabriel did, and pictures anywhere near the Rockefeller tree were impossible, but the boys enjoyed the sights ... until they got hangry! We located a Patsy's Pizza on the upper east side, arranged to meet my aunt there who was in town for work, and got the boys fed STAT:
Then this happened about 5 seconds later:
We attended our Church's Christmas Eve service (on another cold and rainy day!). Andy had to work, so the boys and I stayed home for most of the day and did some Christmas baking. We then walked from our apartment to a diner on the upper west side (over 2 miles away!) and met Andy for a quick bite to eat before the service. Gabriel plowed through 2 bowls of macaroni and cheese! After the service we came home, took a quick family photo and let the boys open their annual Christmas Eve gift - Christmas jammies! We also made another batch of cookies!

And finally, Christmas morning! I didn't get a lot of good pictures, two excited boys are hard to catch on camera! Both boys received a Buzz Lightyear and remote controlled aircraft (Dusty and Blade Runner) from the Planes movie. They also got creature power suits (Wild Kratts). We decided to implement a new strategy this year for gift giving. Each son received 3 gifts to open, just like Jesus did when he came to save us. We're hopeful this will highlight the deeper meaning of Christmas (along with our traditions of advent). Later in the day we made more cookies and served them with hot cocoa with whipped cream.
