Happy Halloween from Yoda, Jango Fett and Qui-Gon Jinn! (Padme took the year off!). The Star Wars theme remains intact for the second year running.
We started our trick or treating early this year by visiting the shops up and down broadway right after school pick up, which is incredibly chaotic! But the boys really enjoyed it, especially because we went with Gabriel's two best friends from school, whom Judah also loves, Leif and Dominic.
After street trick or treating, we met up with Andy and headed over to Hippo playground for the annual costume parade. We didn't make it in time to walk down from Soldiers Monument to the playground while bagpipes played, but we met with some other friends on the playground, which was swamped with children and adults in costume. Gabriel and Judah played with construction worker Draper for a while, but as dinner time approached we figured we better get the boys some food before they became too hangry! So we headed to one of their favorite restaurants, Big Daddy's diner. We met Aunt Steph for dinner, munched on an array of appetizers (which were half off!) and refueled for our last Halloween trip, back to our old hood! No Halloween dinner is complete without partaking in the candy already collected, so we relaxed our sugar rules and let them have a few suckers.
When we lived in the city before we always took Gabriel down West 90th street between Central Park and Columbus Ave, they always block the street off to traffic here and have lots of people sitting out in front of the townhomes handing out candy. It was really fun to be back on this street - the boys made out with plenty of loot and by 7pm we were headed home! Once we got home, the boys sorted out their candy and sold it to Andy for $.05/piece. They each kept about 10 pieces and made about $10!
